The Fund of Problem Loans Took Part in the VIII International Forum Astana Finance Days
On September 4–5, 2025, Astana hosted the VIII International Forum Astana Finance Days (AFD), one of the largest financial events in the region. The forum brought together representatives of government bodies, leading experts, investors, and international organizations to discuss key issues relevant to the global financial community.
The theme of this year’s forum — “Where Capital Shapes the Future” — highlighted the dual role of Astana as both the capital of Kazakhstan and a rapidly developing financial hub bridging East and West. It also emphasized the importance of key forms of capital in ensuring sustainable growth.
JSC “Problem Loan Fund” participated in the forum, exploring new financing instruments, recent developments, global trends, and best practices that could be adapted to the Fund’s activities. While the program covered a wide range of issues in the development of the financial sector, for the Fund the key value lay in the opportunity to look at its own field of activity through the lens of global trends and to identify innovative solutions.
Today, many financing instruments successfully applied in different market segments can also be adapted for the rehabilitation of distressed assets. This creates new opportunities for their reintegration into the economy and contributes to strengthening Kazakhstan’s financial ecosystem.
For the Fund, participation in AFD was not only an opportunity to gain new knowledge, but also an important step toward integrating modern instruments into practice, as well as demonstrating Kazakhstan’s readiness to present its own solutions in the field of distressed asset management at the international level.
The Problem Loan Fund is a significant player in Kazakhstan’s financial system and a platform for developing new approaches to enhancing the economic value of distressed assets. Its activities attract international interest, while long-standing cooperation with foreign financial and specialized organizations confirms that global collaboration is a key factor in improving efficiency.
Astana Finance Days is an annual international forum organized by the AIFC. It brings together experts, investors, regulators, technology companies, and government representatives to discuss the latest trends in finance, sustainable development, and the digital economy.
The forum serves as a platform for building strategic partnerships, concluding investment deals, sharing expertise, and promoting innovative solutions in regional and global markets.
